Following a Sunday night meeting in Jerusalem between Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen), senior PA negotiator Dr. Saeb Erekat released a statement that in principle, the two agreed on a Gaza ceasefire.

Reports from Israel differ however, indicating the prime minister has not committed to such a reality, one that depends on the cessation of anti-Israel terrorism based in Hamas-controlled Gaza.
