During the past Shabbosim in Tiveria, Mayor Ron Kobi has organized chilul Shabbos events in the city as he advances his anti-religious agenda.
On Sunday evening, rabbonim of the Vaad L’Maan Shabbos (Committee for Shabbos) convened to discuss the matter. The secretary of the vaad, Rav Yitzchak Goldknoff called for the urgent session to discuss the events in the northern holy city.
Kikar Shabbos News reports learning that during the meeting, the rabbonim decided that on next month, February 18th, they will visit and meet with local rabbonim and members of the city’s religious council to obtain a comprehensive picture of the issues at hand.
Some of the ideas being tossed around include increasing shiurim in the city, particularly in Hilchos Shabbos, increasing the number of Shabbos sirens around the city, introducing learning Hilchos Shabbos in the city’s talmidei torah on Shabbos afternoons and calling for lighting candles and accepting Shabbos ten minutes earlier.
During the meeting, the rabbonim also heard of the need to give backing and encouragement to the shomer Shabbos businesses by visiting and supporting them.

Why only accepting Shabbos ten minutes earlier, and not ending Shabbos by the later Zmanim?
