Mrs. Naomi Folkman, 78, the mother of MK (Kulanu) Roy Folkman, was run over and killed on Tuesday night as she was crossing the street from the party’s Tel Aviv campaign headquarters.

The Kulanu party statement read: “We all declare with great sorrow the death of Tel Aviv resident Naomi (Lib) Folkman, 78, the mother of MK Roy Folkman. Naomi was hit by a vehicle when she left the party headquarters in Tel Aviv.

“The members of the party all express their deep condolences to Roy, her only son and his whole family.”

MK Roy Folkman was maspid his mother saying, “My mother gave me the right to know the Land of Israel because of her work, and she was a wonderful grandmother for my three children and an exemplary mother. I was not an easy child and she invested in me with all her abilities to make me the person I am today, and for this I owe her forever.”

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Shas party Chairman Aryeh Deri, New Right party Chairman Naftali Bennet and others released messages of condolence.

The fatal accident occurred at the intersection of Nachlat Yitzchak and Yigal Alon Streets in Tel Aviv. Preliminary details from the investigation reveal she was crossing on a green light and at an authorized crosswalk when she was struck by a cement truck. Police are investigating.
