Responding to a request from Education Minister Prof. Yuli Tamir, Defense Minister Ehud Barak have delayed the July IDF induction for a week, this to permit high school graduates to take the mathematics matriculation (bagrut) exam.

As a result of the strike, which ended 31 December 2007, the school year was extended by two weeks to permit students to complete all of the matriculation exams.

The Office of the IDF Spokesperson confirmed the details of the report.
