Deputy Health Minister and Chairman of United Torah Judaism Yaakov Litzman has hinted that there may indeed be a unity between UTJ and Shas ahead of the upcoming election and that the two parties will run on a joint list.
During the Agudas Yisroel Conference on Wednesday, the party ratified the list of candidates that will run for the 21st Knesset. Litzman said during the conference that the Moetzes Gedolei Hatorah has already ratified the move to join together with Shas.
“After we have succeeded at signing an agreement with Degel HaTorah, it seems likely that we will sign an agreement with Shas as well. The Moetzes has already agreed to the move and is working towards it. In addition, the polls are in favor of such a move,” said Litzman.
“If we join together and we prove that the committee can achieve its goals, we could greatly increase our strength, far more than what you believe possible,” he added.
