A recent election poll, released on Wednesday night by Channel 13 News showed if elections were held today, the Yesh Atid party, which currently has 11 seats in Knesset, would drop to 9. The new Chosen Yisrael party, headed by Benny Gantz, would become the second largest party in Knesset with 24 seats.

In a daring threat by the Yesh Atid party, it warns Gantz that if he does not partner with Lapid, as he lacks experience in Knesset, “Lapid will see to eliminating him politically” the Yisrael Hayom newspaper quotes unnamed party officials saying.

In response, Lapid issued a statement of denial. “I never denied an anonymous leak, but the headline in Israel today is incorrect, does not reflect the values of Yesh Atid, and has nothing to do with reality.

“We are not dealing with political assassinations. Certainly not as good and worthy people as Benny Gantz”.

At the end, however, it seems that he understands that this was said by one of his men who added, “Whoever speaks this way has no place in Yesh Atid”.
