Israel Consul General to New York, Dani Dayan walked out of a Bezalel Academy of Art and Design event taking place in NYC on Wednesday night, in a deliberate act of protest of the “slander against the State of Israel” from the left-wing liberal speaker.
Dayon was a speaker, and he was politically correct as he praised the academy’s contribution to Israel. Dayon’s address was followed by the President of the Academy, Prof. Adi Schwartz, who did not waste time getting into politics. He began by telling his audience that freedom of expression is under attack in Israel, stating his academy however is keeping the democratic value at the forefront.
Dayan however did not remain silent but shouted out “this is not true” regarding freedom of speech being threatened in Israel. When Schwartz continued, Dayon left the hall to make his point.
Dayon explained “I do not have patience for those who slander the State of Israel abroad in order to find favor to raise money. I am unprepared to give this legitimacy by my presence”.
