Yachad party leader Eli Yishai earlier this week met with Rav Chaim Druckman, asking him to unite his party with Yachad. According to the news report, Yishai is also maintaining an open channel with MK Betzalel Smotrich, who was recently elected as the new head of the Ichud Leumi party.
Yishai, a former leader of the Shas party, met on Monday with Rav Druckman, seeking to unite Yachad with Bayit Yehudi, which also contains the Ichud Leumi party today.
According to the report released by KAN News correspondent Akiva Weiss, Yishai is simultaneously maintaining an open line of communications with Betzalel Smotrich.
According to a report by Yair Shariki of Chadashot News from about three weeks ago, based on a discussion between Shariki and Rav Druckman, the rav is not enthusiastic over possibly teaming with the former Shas leader and his party, asking why party officials wish to team with Yachad or Otzma Yisrael, with the latter headed by Dr. Michael Ben-Ari.
According to report, Yishai continues efforts to partner with a party ahead of the upcoming national election for the 21st Knesset.

Yishai is desperate. He has no chance of getting enough votes to enter the Kenesset.
Will it be called Yichud?
