At least 21 people were killed in the surprise IDF strikes on Syria early Monday morning.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, at least 12 of those killed were members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.
According to Arab media reports, the total number of Syrian soldiers killed by the Israeli Air Force on Sunday was 6, but was expected to rise in the coming days as several military personnel are in critical condition.
The Russian military and the Syrian air force did not activate their more advanced systems, the S-300, nor the S-400, which is operated by Russian soldiers alone.
Israel said that the strike was a response to the missile attack, which it says was Iranian-made and launched by Iranian forces in Syria. The missile was intercepted by the Iron Dome air-defense system.
