Despite the audible statements of condemnation and accusations of betrayal leveled against Degel Yisrael by Shas chairman Aryeh Deri pertaining to Beit Shemesh, the two parties were once again partners when it came to jointly condemn Mayor Yisrael Porush in Elad.

The following is a translation of the joint message released to the media on Monday by Shas and Degel Hatorah in Elad.

The public in Elad expects that Israeli Mayor Porush will stop playing with false fantasies and will understand that he cannot cause any of the factions to violate the clear agreement signed between the parties. It must be assumed that if and when Yisrael Porush resolves the internal problems that prevent him from opening negotiations, it will be possible to hold honest and direct negotiations for the benefit of the residents”.
