Two accidents on Sunday claimed the lives of two young Jewish women R”L.
The first accident occured at just after 2:30PM on Sunday afternoon on Highway 60 at Shar Binyamin in the Binyamin Regional Council region of Shomron, involving a truck and a private vehicle. The accident occurred near the entrance to the shopping center, which is directly off of Route 60, the main north/south road leading to and from Shomron communities.
United Hatzalah EMT Michal Chai Cohen reported she arrived with an IDF medical team and the most seriously injured person was the driver of the private vehicle. The woman passenger seated next to the driver was R”L pronounced dead on the scene.
The accident resulted in the closure of the road for many hours. Police investigators are probing the fatal accident.
The woman who was killed has been identified as Rebecca Kupshuck A”H, a resident of the town of Eli. The driver of the car, her husband Tom, was evacuated and taken to Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital while he was sedated and on a respirator. The driver of the truck was treated at the scene but did not require hospitalization.
A second accident occurred on Highway 465 near the town of Ateret also in the Binyamin region, not long after the first. Ateret resident Hadas Tapuchi A”H has been identified as the fatality in the second crash. Her vehicle collided head-on with a truck.
It is being reported that IDF soldiers who responded to the accident found signs that stones had been thrown just before the crash.
Hadas is a mother of 4 and just 30 years old.
She was R”L pronounced dead on the scene after emergency medical teams from United Hatzalah and Magen David Adom attempted to perform CPR on her at the scene but to no avail.
