MK (Meretz) Esawi Frij is sponsoring a bill calling to eliminate customs fees on smartphones and tablet computers purchased abroad. The MK explains that everyone buys them when visiting abroad and it is absurd to tens of thousands of travelers into criminals.

He explains that 50,000 people were apprehended smuggling in smartphones in 2012 and eliminating the 30% tax would be in line with the new cellular reforms in Israel.
