MK Rachel Azariya has announced she is leaving the Kulanu party after being elected to Knesset on the party list. She detailed her decision somewhat, explaining that with the passing of time, she has come to the realization that her political philosophy is becoming increasingly distant from that of her party, particularly when it comes to matters of religion and state.
Azariya explains that she does not feel that she can continue in the next Knesset while “grinding my teeth”, and therefore, reached the decision to leave Kulanu in search for a new political home. She admits she has opened channels of discussion with a number of parties, without mentioning names. She adds that she has formed somewhat of an alliance with MK (Likud) Benny Begin, and proudly, they have been successful in blocking the passage of some laws which they viewed as being anti-democratic.
Many feel that she will migrate to the Yesh Atid party, but this is yet to be determined as some opine she may find her new home in an even more left-wing setting.
