The chareidi Business website “bizzness” has voted MK Moshe Gafne as the third most influential person in 2018 due to his position as chairman of the Knesset Finance Committee. In first place is the “Regulator” followed by US President Donald Trump & Xi Jinping.

Just this week, Gafne succeeded in passing the Gemachim Law, after over two years of tenacious efforts, a law which grants gemachim official status. The law to regulate the provision of deposit and credit services without interest by gemachim is intended to regulate, for the first time, the activity of the gemachim as a financial institution for the provision of deposit and interest-free credit services, which receives a license from the State and is subject to supervision.
