Seeking to support the latest wave of unilateral concessions to the Palestinian Authority, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert stated the good-will gestures are important towards building trust and understanding among the pragmatic officials in the PA.

Olmert made his comments on Tuesday while visiting the Chevron area, briefed by senior military commanders. He told soldiers that the area is a most sensitive one and their performance will play a key role in future peace-making efforts.

Olmert’s administration is under growing criticism for approving the hand-over of weapons and armored vehicles to the PA in addition to approving measures towards limiting restrictions on PA motorists, which in turn increases security concerns for Jews traveling Yesha roadways.
