This week, the operational investigation of an anti-tank fire incident by Hamas ended with a bus near the Black Arrow site, which took place on 12 November, wounding an IDF soldier.
This refers to the miracle that occurred, the bus carrying chareidi soldiers who got off the bus a minute before the attack, which would have had disastrous results otherwise as dozens of soldiers were on board earlier.
In the investigation carried out by the Gaza Division, the Ground Forces and the Southern Command Divisions and presented to IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-General Gadi Eizenkott, operational gaps were found in the conduct of the forces in the field in terms of control, isolation of space and operational discipline.
Following the findings of the investigation, it was decided to issue an operations command comment to the brigade commander and to the commander of the divisional battalion, and to two company commanders.
IDF officials report the lessons of the event have been implemented to avoid a future occurrence. Following the investigation, the Gaza Division formulated an updated plan to isolate the division’s space in an emergency that will be fully practiced in the coming weeks.
