Yesha Protest At Paris Square In Jerusalem On Thursday & More Protests Planned For Sunday [VIDEO & PHOTOS]

Yossi Dagan, the head of the Shomron Regional Council, told the media as he stood at the site of the Givat Assaf terror attack, “Enough! We will no longer remain silent! Our security needs have been abandoned!”.

Speaking to the press a few hours following the attack, he vowed that the current situation has to stop – that he and his colleagues have met, and they are unwilling to continue tolerating the attacks without taking action.

At his side was the head of the Beit El Local Council and the head of the Binyamin Regional Council, the council in which Givat Assaf is located, with the three sending a strong message to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, that they are no longer willing to see terror attack after attack, to bury infants who are yet unborn, to see the security on area roadways deteriorating, while not enough is done.

A protest is planned for Thursday night at 7:00PM at Jerusalem’s Paris Square, opposite the Prime Minister’s Residence, and at 9:00AM Sunday morning, the councils will strike and bring leaders and residents to Jerusalem to protest.

The heads of the Yesha Council announced they were meeting at the site of the Givat Assaf attack later in the day, at 3:00PM.

The Yesha leaders shouted, “We will not return to the cursed days of the Oslo Accords,” explaining the road leading from Givat Assaf to Ramallah was closed to Palestinian residents for a decade, but now it remains open to all, and it plays a major role in facilitating attacks, as in this case, with the terrorist using it to head to the city of refuge, Ramallah.

The settlement leaders are calling on the Government of Israel to “untie the hands of the IDF and permit commanders to deal with the increase in terror” as they are trained to do, without restraint.

The leaders send a resounding message, that if the government does not provide security on the area roadways, they will do it on their own, as they are all too familiar with what has to be done, and they are not going to tolerate a continuation of attacks.

  1. Sure hope they didn’t disrupt traffic, block ambulances, or delay anyone from getting home….
’cause we all know that street protests of any kind are totally unacceptable!
