A powerful bomb was attached to a vehicle near the home of the intelligence officer of Rimonim Prison, exploding during the predawn hours in Elad, where the senior officer resides, totally destroying the vehicle. B’chasdei Hashem there was no loss of life or injuries in the ongoing war between crime families and the Israel Prison Service.
Journalist Moshe Glasner, a resident of the city, tweeted Thursday morning, “At 3:00AM, a powerful blast rocked Elad. A bomb was attached to a vehicle. The target was a resident of the building, an officer in the Israel Prison Service. Welcome to Elad, the new target of crime”.
Police theorize the persons who placed the bomb were unable to get to the vehicle of the officer, who is under constant heavy guard, and therefore, they placed the bomb near his home.
On November 26th, another vehicle was destroyed when a bomb went off, also near his home. In addition, on November 21, 2018, YWN-Israel reported gunfire was directed at the Hadarim Prison in the Sharon district from a passing vehicle, once again, attributed to the ongoing war between organized crime and the prison service. Following that incident, police reported the shots were intended to send a message to the prison authority in connection to an ongoing investigation into a crime family hit in the Hatikvah neighborhood of Tel Aviv two weeks earlier in which two people were killed.
The investigation into the shooting of the two involves of one of the crime families and placing “significant pressure” on the head of that family, who is currently imprisoned in Hadarim Prison.
