The former Chief Rabbi of Israel, HaRav Eliyahu Bakshi-Doron, lit the menorah at the Sha’ar Avrohom Bais Hamedrash in Bait Vegan, Jerusalem.

Hundreds of Talmidim from Yeshivas Binyan Av and other local Yeshivos were in attendance, and received “Chanukah gelt” from the Rav.

He then lit Menorah in his home, with a smaller crowd.

On one night, Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Leon visited Rav Bakshi-Doron.
