There were reports of two large explosions in Damascus on Sunday night, which some attributed to an attack on Damascus Airport. However, the official state media denied there was any attack against the airport. There was no explanation given as to the sound of explosions that were heard in the area of the airport.

Interestingly, there was an earlier report from SANA agency that stated the nation’s air defense system responded to a hostile missile that was detected, but the later reported stated there was no attack against the airport retracting the earlier report.
