Senior advisers to Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Yoram Turbowitz and Shalom Turjeman flew to Washington earlier in the week for talks with senior US officials including National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley.

They discussed various security-related issues, including Iran’s ongoing nuclear program and the growing Hizbullah threat.

It has also been learned that recent talks in Israel with US Vice President Richard Cheney also addressed the Iranian threat.

Israel continues to carefully monitor Tehran’s uranium enrichment process, concerned that the ‘point of no return’ may be approaching sooner than previously thought.

Interestingly, China, who has opposed increased sanctions against Iran, has recently furnished new information regarding progress in Iran’s program to the International Atomic Energy Agency, information that is alarming, showing Tehran is indeed moving towards nuclear independence.
