Peretz Extends an Olive Branch to Barak

“There is no love affair between us” stated former Labor Party leader Amir Peretz, who called on party leader Ehud Barak to forgive and forget for the “good of the party and the future of the state”.

At a party function in the Hatikvah neighborhood of Tel Aviv, MK Yoram Marciano called on Barak to take the step towards working with Peretz for the collective good.

Regarding media reports surrounding ongoing efforts to obtain the release of Gilad Shalit, Peretz announced his plans to meet and speak with bereaved families, who loved ones were killed in terror attacks, explaining the release of Marwan Barghouti will increase efforts towards peace.

Barghouti, a senior Fatah terrorist, is serving five life sentences for his part in the planning of terror attacks and the murder of innocent Jews. His name continues to appear on lists submitted by terrorists seeking his release towards the return of captive IDF soldiers.
