Bayit Yehudi party chairman Naftali Bennet appears on the BBC’s HardTalk program explaining his statements vis-à-vis Gaza and the need to remove Hamas.
Bennet, who usually fairs well during interviews, appears caught off guard and does not handle his aggressive interviewer too well as he faces off against questions including the international community, the UN and The International Court of Justice in The Hague opposing steps taken by Israel.
At the end of the interview, he is asked if he has aspirations to become Israel’s Prime Minister. Bennet explains that for as long as Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu continues in office, he hopes to stand aside him and assist him, hopefully as Defense Minister in the next government, and yes, “after the Netanyahu era, I see myself becoming Prime Minister”.
