The Bnei Brak Municipality is planning to raze the Peleg Yerushalmi-affiliated shul located on Abarbanel Street in the Kiryat Herzog area and the equipment is already seen outside, with city officials explaining the shul was constructed illegally.

On motzei Shabbos, a hachnasas Sefer Torah was held at the shul, with the participation of leading Peleg Rabbonim Shlita, including HaRav Tzvi Friedman, HaRav Shmuel Markowitz, HaRav Moshe Schmida and HaRav Asher HaKohen Deutsch. Affiliated local officials were there too, and they spoke of the possibility of the removal of the shul by the city.

Kikar Shabbos News reports speaking to a gabbai of the shul, who is quoted saying if they try to take down the shul, over 1000 people are willing to enter the fight to prevent this will all their might. “We hired a lawyer who had evidence that this is harassment. Only yesterday, the new mayor participated in a dinner at the Beis Tefilla shul, which was also built illegally. This will all come to court. They do not understand where they are bringing the city.”
