Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat on Wednesday, 13 Kislev, signed the building permit for the expansion of the US Embassy in Jerusalem. The permit includes the addition of office space, the regulation of entrances and the addition of 700 square meters of service space of which 350 square meters will be underground for office space while another 350 square meters will be allocated for the expansion of an existing floor to accommodate offices.
The building permit will enable the American administration to expand the work area and activities of the embassy and permit more employees to operate from Jerusalem.
Mayor Nir Barkat “I am happy and proud to approve the expansion of the US Embassy in the capital of the State of Israel. The transfer of the embassy to Jerusalem was a historic step by President Trump, who made it clear to all the world that Jerusalem is the eternal capital of the State of Israel. We will continue to assist the American administration in expanding its activities in the capital and we will be happy to open additional embassies of many countries in Jerusalem.”
