Defense Minister Ehud Barak announced on Tuesday that border crossings between Gaza and Israel may reopen if and when violence and rocket attacks halt.

Barak discussed the possibility of reopening crossings with US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice during her recent three-day shuttle diplomacy visit, but defense establishment officials stated they do not see such a move in the near future based on current realities.
