During their court hearing, police once again detailed for the court how the Bnei Brak parents neglected and abused their 11 children, leading to the court extending their remand once again.
A police representative who was present during the hearing on Monday described the painful story that was revealed by the children’s testimonies and said, “Slowly, a terrible Pandora’s box opens up for the unfortunate family.”
The court decided, as stated, at the end of a hearing to extend the mother’s detention until Thursday, and the father’s detention until Sunday. On the other hand, the mother’s lawyer argued: “Not always in families with many children below the poverty line is there a way of life as we would like it to be conducted …”
The parents were arrested a week and a half ago at the end of a covert investigation and the collection of evidence by police investigators in the Dan Region on suspicion of abusing their children, abuse that was ongoing for many years.
In a previous court hearing, police representative Guy Calderon said that “this is one of the most difficult incidents that the Israel Police encountered. The suspect and her husband abused their 11 children, most of them minors. Regarding the mother, she is suspected of many offenses, and in addition she forced her older children to beat her small children.
“After the report was received by the police, it began a strenuous investigation, and within a short time the suspects were arrested. The abuse took place over several years and in a number of cities in Israel as well as abroad, hence the involvement of Interpol” Calderon explained.
“The complaint came from one of the couple’s daughters, aged 17. Half of the offenses began when she was three, and there are dozens of events, if not hundreds, and the welfare authorities are also involved in this story.”
He added, “All the stories will be revealed in the coming days: there are dozens or hundreds of events: every time a welfare authority in a certain city begins to find out what is happening to these unfortunate children, they fled the city”.
According to the police, the abuse included incidents of starvation, beatings and lashing with objects. When they visited the couple’s apartment in Bnei Brak, the Dan District police discovered a particularly neglected apartment. “This is cruel abuse,” the police concluded.

How is it possible that over all this time no neighbors reported anything? That in itself is criminal
Evidently people did report, because it says that the couple had to move from city to city and (regarding Interpol involvement) even from country to country. There is no coordination between different frum communities to detect this sort of thing, so they got away with it.
Daven for the children that they should have a refuah and nechamah from the painful childhood they have experienced.
People are not educated with the term “mesira”
Most of These things go on for so long undetected by authorities is because people are more afraid of what the neighborhood will say about them for messering on child abuse then about the actual abuse.
Its the social pressures which keep the wrong things in check. People need to be educated when mesira applies or does not apply.
Now watch the Riots in the streets. A horrible pattern has emerged that when Frum people are charged with crimes- in one case Murder of an infant, in another molestations of females- certain Parts of the Frum community actually riot in the streets against the arrest. This is abhorrent. We must obey civil and Torah Laws. Stealing, murder, Child Abuse, Molestation are all both Civil and Torah Violations. Rioters seem to forget Halacha matters
Poverty? Who paid for the plane fairs to overseas and all the moves?
Leahleh, it is bad to support the criminals, but it is also bad to only be against child abuse, stealing and murder because they are illegal.
Many people in are afraid of reporting since there are “stories” of the government sending children to non religious or non jewish homes.
Riots? When? Where? I live here and have not heard of any riots in connection with this case.
19 I scattered them among the nations and dispersed them throughout the countries; I judged them in keeping with their manner of life and actions. 20 When they came to the nations they were going to, they profaned my holy name; so that people said of them, ‘These are HaShem’s people, who have been exiled from his land.’ 21 But I am concerned about my holy name, which the house of Isra’el is profaning among the nations where they have gone.
