President Reuven Rivlin has appointed Shuli Davidovich as Senior Foreign Affairs Advisor to the President. Davidovich will replace David Saranga, the president’s advisor for the last four years, who was recently appointed Israel’s Ambassador to Romania.
The president congratulated Davidovich on her appointment and said he was confident that her rich experience and dedication to Israel’s foreign service will help her greatly in the years ahead. The president thanked Saranga for his years of professional service at Beit HaNasi and said “Saranga is asset to Israel’s foreign service and to the complex diplomatic tasks that it faces every day.”
Davidovich joined the foreign service 23 years ago and has rich experience in two of Israel’s key foreign policy areas – Europe and the UN. She comes to the President’s Residence from Brussels, where she served as Deputy Ambassador to the European Union and NATO. Previously, Davidovich headed the Department of International Organizations, Special Agencies and Global Issues at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and also served at the Israeli Mission to the UN in New York, as Spokesperson for the embassy in London, as Deputy Ambassador and Consul to Costa Rica and at the MFA in Jerusalem in the Europe, Latin America and Political Research departments. Davidovich has a BA in Middle Eastern Studies and International Relations from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and is married with five children.
