Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon is calling to set a date for early elections as soon as possible towards safeguarding the nation’s economy.

Speaking to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, he called for early elections following the resignation of Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman rather than trying to have the coalition continue.

At the meeting, Kahlon said that the stability required at this time is not achievable in the present situation, and therefore the most responsible act is the establishment of a new, strong and stable government. Kahlon said he was ready to lead the move in coordination with other coalition officials.
