Residents of Gaza border communities in southern Israel on Sunday morning blocked the Kerem Shalom Crossing, where trucks carrying goods from southern Israel into Gaza were operating. They decried the unacceptably poor security situation that exists along the Gaza border today, unwilling to permit Israel to continue permitting necessary goods to flow into Gaza as attacks from Gaza continue against them.
On Friday evening at about 7:00PM, another terrorist incursion into Southern Israel was reported, and while the terrorist was apprehended one kilometer from a community, before he could injure anyone, he did set a hothouse on fire before being caught.
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu addressed the security situation in Gaza on motzei Shabbos and he approved the renewed flow of goods into Gaza on Sunday, in his words, “to prevent a humanitarian crisis”.
