A sign was posted outside Bnos Yerushalayim in Meah Shearim on motzei Shabbos requesting all person who are not vaccinated against measles remain outside of the hall where a pidyon haben was taking place. The child was released from a hospital especially for the ceremony.

The child was born with medical issues and has been hospitalized since birth. The parents were permitted to take him from the hospital for a few hours for the pidyon haben.

Doctors however informed the parents that they must not permit anyone unvaccinated against measles to attend the event, and they posted signs on the doors to make sure guests see the notice on time, before entering.

The posted signs read:

ונשמרת מאוד לנפשותיכם! בהוראת הרופאים! מי שלא מחוסן נגד ‘מחלת החצבת’ שלא יכנס לאולם השמחה. חמירא סכנתא מאיסורא
