Baruch Dayan Emmes: HaRav HaChossid Shmuel Bristovsky Z”L was niftar on Thursday, 1 Rosh Chodesh Kislev in Tel Aviv at the age of 72. The succumbed to his difficult illness.
Those who knew the niftar explain that no one who visited Ichilov Hospital on Shabbos of Yomim Tovim and who became familiar with the late Rabbi Bristovsky, who was not touched by his hachnasas orchim, for which he became famous for, his unyielding concern for the needs of hospital patients and their guests.
Simply stated, anyone who was compelled to spend Shabbos in Tel Aviv’s Ichilov Hospital to be with a relative was touched by the niftar’s chessed. There is not a person who was in the hospital on a Shabbos who has not of his chessed, friends explain. Kikar Shabbos News explains one friend said that the guest apartment was stocked with food and hot meals awaited those ‘stuck’ in the hospital, as well as the rav seeing to all their other needs, far above seudos Shabbos.
Acquaintances add that his efforts and those of his family were clearly L’Shem Shomayim, nothing more and nothing less.
