Shin Bet Director Nadav Argaman on Tuesday told a session of the Knesset Foreign Affairs & Defense Committee that his agency prevented 480 terror attacks in 2017 and arrested 500 terrorists. He spoke of the complex situation that exists today, and how Hamas continues efforts to carry out terror attacks in areas of Yehuda and Shomron, with assistance from Gaza, Lebanon and Turkey.

He then explained to committee members and its chairman, MK (Likud) Avi Dichter, that the situation in Yehuda, Shomron and Gaza is complicated, citing there is a measure of instability in Yehuda and Shomron, while regarding Hamas-controlled Gaza; a military action appears imminent on the one hand, and efforts to bring about a measure of stability towards improving the humanitarian situation for residents of Gaza continue.
