A Yarkon district spokesman of Israel Police reports on Monday that a suspect was taken into custody in connection with the explosion of a vehicle that claimed two lives at the intersection of Lechi and Etzel Streets in the Hatikva neighborhood of Tel Aviv. At present, it appears it was a crime family striking out against another in a targeted assassination.
Police report that the suspect was seen fleeing the scene of the explosion on foot, and they began running after him, leading to his apprehension.
The suspect is described as a male in his 50s, a resident of Bat Yam. He was taken for questioning to the Tel Aviv station. He will be arraigned in the Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court.
