Following are updates from the various parties and candidates as they pertain to the chareidi tzibur vis-à-vis the upcoming municipal elections throughout Israel, which are scheduled for Tuesday, 21 Marcheshvan.
PM Netanyahu Gives Elkin A Boost With A Shuk Visit
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Wednesday afternoon gave the Likud’s Jerusalem mayoral candidate, Minister Ze’ev Elkin, a boost by visiting Machane Yehuda.
As one can see in the accompanying photos, the visit did attract an audience as the street was closed down somewhat be the Prime Minister’s security detail.
Elkin’s campaign staff ended the visit by pointing an accusing visit at opponent Moshe Leon, stating, “Moshe Leon again crossed a red line when he sent his senior aides to try to blow up Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s support visit with Minister Ze’ev Elkin in Shuk Machane Yehuda. Leon and his bosses, Deri and Lieberman, failed in an effort to prevent Prime Minister Netanyahu’s support of Elkin and they will fail at polling stations on Tuesday when the residents of Jerusalem will send a clear message against the package of Deri Lieberman and Leon”.
For a first time ever, the day has been declared a national holiday, in the hope it will result in significantly higher voter turnout than in past elections.
Shas

Moshe Leon
Jerusalem mayoral candidate Moshe Leon is backed by both Degel Hatorah and Shas. Clearly, this video is directed at the frum tzibur, both Ashkenazim and Sephardim, hoping to bring them out to vote for Leon. The words have been adopted to a familiar tune.
