Haaretz columnist Yisrael Cohen on Monday published a call to back chareidi candidate Yossi Deutsch in the Jerusalem mayoral race, calling him “everyone’s candidate” and the right person at the right time.

Jerusalem mayoral candidate Yossi Deutsch is asked by a dati leumi participant of an election assembly how he will act if elected vis-à-vis non-chareidi voters.
Deutsch explains he is not sectoral, and he should not be perceived as such simply because he has a black yarmulke, jacket and hat. He explains that in the past 12 years, no one has ever accused him of not addressing the needs of anyone and everyone that has turned to him for assistance, and he will continue if elected mayor.
Betar Illit – Only the Anashim party will provide the answers
There are 55,000 residents in Betar Illit and they want quality of life, education, employment, and that the city council works on their behalf. It appears the council is asleep, and the interests of elected officials are not always in line with that of residents. We want a working city council. We cannot run the city as a part time job. Only the Anashim party will provide the answers, including addressing the growing number of youths who hang out in the streets.
Belze Chassidim Back Deutsch in Jerusalem Mayoral Race
The Belzer Rebbe Shlita is backing Yossi Deutsch in the Jerusalem mayoral race, calling on chassidim to vote for him and to persuade others to follow. Thousands of chassidim took part in an election kenos headed by HaRav HaTzaddik Rav Aharon Mordechai Rokeach, who represented the rebbe. Also present were Belze representative in Knesset MK Yisrael Eichler, along with Deputy Minister Meir Porush, MK Menachem Eliezer Moses (Vishnitz) and of course the candidate, Yossi Deutsch.
Belz representative on the city council, Michael Halberstam pointed out mayoral candidate Moshe Leon never voted in the interests of the Belz tzibur.
