Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman has decided to reopen the Erez and Kerem Shalom Crossings to Gaza. They were closed recently due to the increased violence from Gaza, which continues, but nevertheless, the minister decided to reopen the crossings.
Lieberman arrived at his decision following a high-lever consult pertaining to the current security situation regarding Gaza. It is explained that the decision was made following announced efforts by senior Hamas figures to restrain the various terror organizations towards halting cross-border attacks.
Despite the violence along the Gaza fence on Friday, involving some 10,000 Gazans, it was the calmest Friday in weeks.
