A Look At The Last 10 Days

kassam47.jpgOver the past ten days, ending on Wednesday night, there were 39 Qassam rocket attacks, 40 mortar shell attacks, 3 bomb attacks and 9 shooting attacks directed at Sderot area communities.

Following the light injuring of a Kibbutz Ein HaShlosha farmer lightly in a Wednesday morning sniper attack, farmers and area residents question when the government will permit the IDF to take the necessary action to protect them.

Kibbutz residents point out they are in the Negev, an area that the government has made a priority for housing and future development, yet no one is permitting the army to do what is necessary to protect area residents.

Farmers this week were compelled to halt work every day, either due to rocket attacks or gunfire.

A number of months ago, a volunteer from Ecuador was murdered in a sniper attack similar to yesterday’s, which fortunately ended with one light injury.

Kibbutz residents ask why after someone is murdered does the media and government exhibit signs of coming out of a slumber but when daily attacks occur, without injuries, no one even bothers taking notice – yet after the fatal attack, they ask, how could we have permitted the situation to deteriorate to such a level?
