The anti-chareidi campaign ahead of municipal elections in Ashdod continues, as the candidate seeking the Russian vote reaches out to the Russian-speaking community via the accompanying video, which seeks to instill fear in voters.

The video might be somewhat humorous if it was not part of a real election campaign, one built on anti Chareidi and anti Torah values, telling voters if chareidim succeed in getting their candidate into power, then the secular community will be compelled to keep Shabbos and their freedom will be limited to accommodate a Torah lifestyle.

If a candidate were to release a similar video against the secular or Arab community, the liberals and leftists would be up in arms shouting “racism” and “incitement”, but for as long as it only attacks chareidi Yiddishkeit, all remain silent R”L.

Despite the threat of this candidate getting elected in Ashdod, the chareidi tzibur is still not united and internal politics seem to take priority over uniting against such a tangible threat to the entire chareidi community.
