A Jerusalem police spokesman unit report states the father of a 10-month-old girl was taken into custody on suspicion of striking and abusing his daughter during recent months.

Police received complaints and probed the matter, leading to the subsequent arrest of the father after gathering sufficient evidence backing the allegations against him.

The suspect, who is in his 30s, has been questioned regarding the assault and abuse of a helpless child, leading to injury. The father is being remanded on Thursday, 3 Marcheshvan.
