Border police discovered a pipe bomb that was hurled at Kever Rochel. B’chasdei Hashem, the IED did not explode.
Border police first detected what appeared to be a suspicious object, and soon thereafter determined it was a genuine explosive device. Bomb demolition technicians were summoned to remove the device from the area.
Border police then operated in the el-Eida refugee camp, where they believe the IED was prepared. They arrested a 25-year-old suspect, who is affiliated with Hamas. He is believed to have hurled the pipe bomb reported above. Other arrests were made as well in connection to the bomb-building operation in the refugee camp.
