During maariv on erev Sukkos, Rabbi Berland arrived at the shul together with youth from his Shuvu Banim Yeshiva. The mispallalim opposed Berland’s arrival because of his criminal past and began to sing and protest against him. As a result, the youths began to beat the mispallalim violently.
The accompanying video shows the response to Rav Eliezer Berland’s entry to a shul together with his chassidim.

rav berland, really ; how about menuvel shelo bereshut ha’toraf and mena’aif berland. Perhaps according to some he is more qualified than the CR in jail to be the next CR. hashem yerachem and pass the drugs.

The parents have to teach the youth good midos. The young follow the old. This should not have happened. It’s a bizayon to the shul.

Rav Chaim Kanievsky said Rav Berland is an ish kadosh and groise yarei shamayim, and that his father, the Steipler, was very close with him. Additionally, rav dovid abuchatzeria said the whole thing is sheker and that rav berland is “kulo kadosh”. Rav Berland shlit”a took bizyones upon himself as a kapara for the dor. Before speaking about a huge tzadik you know nothing about, do your research as you can lose your whole oilam haba in one second.

Loveyidden, it’s proper to be dan lekaf zechus…until someone is a proven choteh umachti es harabim. Then it’s a mitzva to let the details be known, to protect the tzibbur, klal uprat. Sorry, but all your info is from far in the past and total hearsay. Likely put out there by the insiders. I would NEVER condescend to accept your claims as truth, and these claims are beyond disrespectful to the gedolim whom you are trying to use for Berland PR.

There is ample documentation that Berland was a chavrusa with the Steipler Gaon, and this lasted for quite a few years. One doesn’t get to achieve that by being an idiot. However, not every talmid chochom is fit for every position. Not everyone can serve as a shochet or mohel, regardless of their Torah knowledge. And the same goes for leadership. It is tragic that the leadership of today, rampant in the chassidishe and litvishe circles, has deteriorated to hero worship. Blame whoever you like, and this can be its own discussion. But the crowds that surround certain leaders do not function with any similarity to the chassidim of early generations of chassidus, nor do the talmidim behave close to the talmidim of the early generations of litvishe gedolim. This is apparent in so many ways.
Not only do the followers fail to live up to the standards of those of earlier generations, but the leaders are often not true leaders. How many of these rebbes or roshei yeshivos put focus on the downtrodden, the rejected, the struggling? How many of them train their flocks to behave so? High levels of prowess in Torah learning do not make someone a leader, nor does the illustrious ancestry qualify someone to serve as a rebbe. Sorry, but there are midos required. One would hope that these are consistent with Torah learning, but we are all witness that this is not always true.
We are told of R’ Yochanan Kohen Gadol that served in the 2nd Beis Hamikdosh for 80 years, who went OTD and became a tzedoki. Would anyone challenge his holiness during the 8 decades of his entering the Kodeshai Kodoshim on Yom Kippur? But the yetzer horah does not exempt anyone. I can agree that Berland was once fit to be a chavrusa to the Steipler Gaon. That does not conflict with the history that followed. Most frightening is the extremes of behavior completely unfit for a true Gadol Beyisroel that characterize his “chassidim”. Not a trace of the midos that were espoused by Reb Nachman in his writings. No kedusha, no menchlichkeit, no respect for Torah. Just mob mentality. These thugs had no business pushing around people in a beis hamedrash. If they were unwelcome, there is good reason. Just go elsewhere. But the mob that lacks fundamental midos has a mission, and that is not Torah based.
Lastly, the comment that talks about his absorbing the bizayon as kapara for the sins of Klal Yisroel – that is borderline kefira. You might examine a basic tenet of the Catholic faith and how it started. That stinks really bad, and has no place in Klal Yisroel.
There are so many horrifying details missing from this article. One persons rib was broken, another elder a son of R Shmuel Shapira was hit with an iron bar in the face requiring stitches around his eye. A ln older woman had a baby stroller thrown at her head by a man from the Berland cult. 2 dayanim one of them a motz on the eidah charedis were beat up. After all the violence, on yom tov they broke into the offices of the shul and stole the computers to try to keep the videos from being published. They walked down mea Sharon holding computers on yom tov. The list goes on and on.
The word “Rav”should not be published anywhere near his name on any Jewish website. He is quite literally the shabtai tzvi of this generation.
That’s besides what happened on Yom Kippur. Where they came to shul with 300 people and took the seats people paid for by force. Beating people up during kol nidrei. And the first day chol hamoed Sukkos they came back with pepper spray and tazers.

not to mention the sukka they built covering an entire street ,illegally blasting music way above the safe level until 3 in the morning , (there are people in the neighborhood now with hearing loss and permanent tinnitus),preventing people in the area from sleeping. Multiple calls to the police did nothing— obviously bribed by the Berland cult.
