idf logo1.jpgAn IDF non-commissioned officer (NCO) was arrested by police for disclosing sensitive Intel regarding Israel’s military activity to Hezbollah, the Haifa Military Court announced Monday.

According to the Jerusalem Post, the soldier – who was arrested a month ago – allegedly gave over the sensitive details to the terrorist group in exchange for Hezbollah allowing him to smuggle drugs into Israel. An additional two suspects were reportedly arrested, and belonged to the ring of drug smugglers from southern Lebanon into Israel.

According to one report, the soldier was passing the Intel to Hezbollah during the second Lebanon War.

  6. I’m pretty sure from other news accounts that he is an arab. Identified as a “tracker”, which are often druze, bedouin or other arabs and one of a group of three, where the other two were definitely identified as arabs, from one of the arab towns within the so-called green line.

  7. More on that, from Arutz Sheva:

“The NCO, an army tracker from the Arab village of Fassuta in the north of the country, is suspected of passing information on IDF troop movements to Hizbullah, police announced Monday. The NCO was arrested one month ago, along with a 30-year-old resident of Nazareth, suspected of being the ringleader, and a 26-year-old resident of Tuba-Zanghariya. The three are suspected of operating a criminal enterprise ring that smuggled and distributed drugs from Lebanon in Israel.”
