While the firefighters were handling a gas leak near kindergartens in Kfar Sava, MDA teams addressed the 120 children whom were evacuated from the kindergartens due to the gas leak. Being that they were not in need of medical care, the MDA teams brought the little ones to a safe area and then began showing them the ambulances and the equipment.
On Sunday morning, at 8:31AM, MDA’s 101 call center in the Yarkon area received a call for a gas leak near the kindergartens on Shlomo and Chaya Engel Street in Kfar Sava. Police, fire and EMS responded to the scene and the first order of business, was to distance the 120 children, ranging in age from 2-7, from the danger zone.
MDA Yarkon District Deputy commander Assi Dviainsky, who was the EMS incident commander, explains, “Our teams operating in the area helped to keep the children from the four kindergartens in the area safe. They found an original way to prevent panic among the children and to spend their time creatively until the end of the firefighting operations there.”
