Dozens of police and Israel Prison Service retirees, along with members of their families, protested in the capital on Wednesday, 25 Elul in a protest against the government’s failure to match their wages and pensions to career military personnel.
Several dozen of the protesters pushed their way into the Prime Minister’s Office.
The protestors chanted slogans against the government and the Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu because of the decision to pass a motion at the cabinet meeting that excludes policemen, prison service employees and pensioners from the additional benefits paid to the IDF for the past 12 years. They maintain their contribution to the security of the nation is on the same level as the IDF, demanding equal recognition and benefits.
The protesters blocked the junction leading to the Prime Minister’s Office and set tires on fire.
Due to the stormy nature of the protest, and the venue, Ministers were told not to approach the entrance to the compound, and the planned cabinet meeting was postponed.
Following the incident, Prime Minister’s Office Security Officer Aviad Feigin, filed an official complaint with the Israel Police following the disturbance and break-in to the grounds of the Prime Minister’s Office. He demanded that the Israel Police investigate the matter immediately and take all measures to bring to justice those involved in the break-in and those who broke the law during the demonstration.

Goodness, I hope they didn’t block traffic, or prevent anyone from getting to their doctor appointments. Or keep the prime minister from getting to HIS office. Otherwise, they too would be part of the exclusive club of vile animals who cause a terrible chilul Hashem…..
