Eretz Yisroel: Hamantasch Statistics 5768!

hamatash.jpgAccording to Israel’s Manufacturers Association, 30 million hamantaschen will be consumed in Eretz Yisroel this Purim – a significant rise since last years 23 million (reported HERE on YWN). As was last year, the most popular flavor across the country remains chocolate, with strawberry, apricot, and the rest of the favorites following behind.

New flavors have been seen around the country this year such as: black and white hamantaschen with a mix of two pastry doughs, together with prune and coffee fillings.

For the “health-nuts”, and those on strict diets, have no fear. An additional 1.5 million are being produced with whole wheat, reduced or zero sugar, and all natural ingredients.

NOTE: Hamantasch statistics for the United States are currently being calculated by the Presidents of the National Conference of Jewish Associations Of Chevra Hamantasch-Eating Jewish Alliance League – Local 422; [AKA: POTNCOJAOCHEJALL422].

  1. Now lets ot get negative about obesity, over excessive and opulent hamantahen-bashen, or global warming. No, hamantashen have no bearing on the Shidduch crisis, nor are they regulated by the Lakewood Vaad.
Incidentally, with Lieberman’s army tax and
bin laden fighting the pope, prices and ideed, solubility might be affected pursuant to cross calculating the marketability. Also, potpourri prune fillings might not, but only right up to the point of concergience anf fallability triangulating.

Limoshol, the time my Aunt Gertie made Avocado Almond Arsa cake, and my Bubby Pesha (till 120 !) mistakenly added two cups of pecans due to multiple pan confusion. So with the pistacio topping added, it was simply nutty !! [Get it? HaHaHa !!]

Reading “Arabian Crocodile” by Mulligan Finchley is mandatory for gaining he requisite insight.

  2. Chocolate?? What ever happened to the original, and best, mohn? Don’t forget, it is the mohn filling that reminds us of the zeronin that Esther ate in the palace to avoid treife food.

  3. noigeah to all of us ‘chutznikim’, how many hamantaschen will be consumed in chutz la’aretz? The nafke mina is if we’ll be yoitza purim meshulash kedas vekedin in a shemita year with two Adors. This only happens once every two billion hamantashen.

  4. Nebach the liberals are once again destroying everything that’s dear to us by producing whole-wheat hamentaschen. Next they’ll be eating milchik seudas purim H”y.
