During the night of 24 Elul (Tuesday to Wednesday), R’ Chaim Yosef Zilber Z”L was niftar in Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem after battling a difficult illness. He was the founder of the Gal Paz chain and a brother-in-law of Shas chairman and Interior Minister, Aryeh Deri.

The niftar was known as a major baal chessed, married to Esther, an older sister to Mrs. Yaffa Deri, Aryeh Deri’s wife. The niftar is survived by his wife and their ten children, and the levaya was held on Tuesday in Har Menuchos.
