In what is likely to be shocking news to most Beit Shemesh residents in addition to the candidates, a poll shows that Dr. Aliza Bloch beats Beit Shemesh Mayor Rabbi Moshe Abutbul if elections were held today; by one percent – 46% to 45%. Bloch is a member of the city’s dati leumi community.
Two and a half months before the elections, Aliza Bloch is catching up with the incumbent mayor of Beit Shemesh, Moshe Abutbul, and is a direct threat to his continued service in the city.
In a survey conducted by the “New Wave” (הגל החדש) Research Institute, which was conducted last week and included about 400 Beit Shemesh residents, Bloch leads by a 1% margin on Moshe Abutbul among the people who declared that they will vote. In the previous survey Abutbul led 9%.
It should be noted that this is the second survey conducted by the New Wave in the city. The number of ‘undecided’ voters was 28% and now only 9%. Those who remain uncertain about Beit Shemesh will probably be the ones who determine the outcome in the elections.
Aliza Bloch, who consistently presented a perception and desire to lead the entire city and opposes the sectoral perception of secular, religious and chareidim, raises the city’s main problems daily on her Facebook page, addressing internal and external issues, which she states includes years of non-utilization of budgets given by the state, serious problems in Beit Shemesh’s religious services, problems in the city’s education system, welfare, employment solutions, and more.
It seems that Bloch’s approach, which holds that regardless of the religious beliefs of the residents, is that they should choose the person who will best manage the city of Beit Shemesh, an approach that is appreciated by many residents.
According to the survey, Bloch also enjoys the quiet support of many chareidi residents. An analysis of the survey results shows that more than 20 percent of the chareidim will vote for Bloch. 15% stated this explicitly in the survey, and 19% said they were undecided about the candidates. The last poll clearly shows a serious boost to Bloch and her supporters, and it may be of great concern to Abutbul, who until now has ignored her candidacy.

we should all pray for this outcome; defeating the current mayor would be a kiyum of vela’malshinim al tehi tikvah
“direct threat to his continued service of the city”
would actualy be his own policy of making non chareidim unwelcome, giving positions of authority to politicians with no awareness or training in any field, and giving free reign to insurgent groups while blaming his impotence on the police.
Bloch represents common sense from a religeous perspective.
Abutball represents ten years of repetitive failure in the name of Torah.
DrYidd ,
What rishus
From the same fellow who unabashedly admitted to have marched in the ‘Parade’ ( Or was it some other parade)
If YWN would block this DrYidd i it be “would be a kiyum of vela’malshinim al tehi tikvah”
If DrYidd is of the fellas who campaigned against the charedim and then having lost ,campaigned to have the results nullified that would of the minor ‘mistakes’
Aboutbol may be incompetent and should possibly have a different role,
However he is a righteous BT
far more than would be said of this poster
Bloch may be running a better campaign,
but voting for her is wary step
Bring on an another candidate
it is time for truth, if that was true, you would have to stop commenting. my apartment in israel in near the gay parade. because of chareidi murders, the police protection cost the state a fortune. your appreciation for humor is unrivaled.
