An Israeli woman in her 40’s was struck and killed by a vehicle at Havat Gilad junction on Route 60 on Thursday night.
The Palestinian driver initially fled the scene, prompting fears of a terror attack. The IDF set up roadbloacks at the entrance to the town and at the nearby Palestinian city of Shechem.
The driver of the vehicle, which appears to have been a cab, has now turned himself in and claims the incident was an accident. The 63-year-old man says he fled out of fear what would have happened to him if he remained on scene.
Chapter head of the Shomron for United Hatzalah, Yehuda Hess who was one of the first responders at the scene said: “United Hatzalah EMS volunteers performed CPR on a woman who was critically injured in a car ramming incident near Havat Gilad. Unfortunately, following a lengthy resuscitative effort, paramedics at the scene were forced to pronounce her death due to the severity of her injuries.”
However, Shomron Regional Council chairman Yossi Dagan insisted it appears to be a terror attack: “From the point of view of the military commanders in the field, and from our point of view as well, this is a terror attack for all intents and purposes.”
“The junction is a lit by street lamps,” he says, adding that there were no skid marks or other signs that the driver came to a sudden halt. “From our point of view, this is another terror attack, a cold-blooded murder of a Samaria resident on a central road in the State of Israel.”
The incident appeared to have occurred near the site of an attack in January, when Rabbi Raziel Shevach HY”D was shot to death by a Hamas terrorist.

I see that these terrorists try to get away by saying that it was an accident! And probably he will get away with it with those liberal israelie judges, and top lawyers sponsored by the PA. this is just way too frustrating, it hurts me so much to know that another yid has been slaughtered by these animals .
