Education Minister Naftali Bennet, who heads the Bayit Yehudi party and is a member of the Security Cabinet, leveled harsh criticism against the very government he serves in following the decision to reopen the Kerem Shalom Crossing and to expand the Gaza fishing zone to nine nautical miles.

Bennet explained that he and other party ministers will oppose a temporary agreement with Hamas when it is presented at the next cabinet meeting, for such a situation is simply rewarding the terrorist regime for its rocket fire and attacks across the Gaza border into Israel.

“After 130 days of gunfire and rocket fire, we must not award terrorists without returning our captives and the bodies of the dead soldiers. The terrorists will learn that terror pays, and Israel’s deterrent power will be harmed,” Bennet said.
